Our problem turned out to have a simple solution. Both halogen bulbs in our microwave blew at the same time and didn't show any evidence (burn marks) of being out of commission. Andy was quick to point out the problem and to educate me about the appearance of a burned out halogen bulb.
Good attention to issue
