Having problems with your washing machine? Even the best washing machines can experience technical difficulties sometimes. Here are some common washing machine problems and troubleshooting tips.

Doesn’t Turn On

If the washing machine is not turning on, check the electrical supply. There may be something wrong with the power outlet, not with the machine. It is also possible that the door is not fully closed, which can happen if the lid switch is not working properly. Some washing machines will not turn on if the motor is overheated, in which case you need to give it some time to rest or call for appliance repair.

Not Filling With Water

Again, this can be a result of the door not being closed properly. The lid switch may be damaged or covered with dirt. It is also possible that the machine is not attached to the water supply.

Not Draining

If the machine is not draining, then there may be something clogging the drain hose or blocking the drain pump. Remove the drain hose and clean it out. If you use too much detergent, the extra suds may be causing the machine not to drain properly.

Shaking and Wobbling

If your machine is shaking and wobbling, it may be because your load is not even. Take it out and put it back in evenly. It is also possible that the machine’s legs are not even. This is not easy to fix depending on the type of flooring.  Best to consult with an appliance repair technician for advice.

Makes Too Much Noise

If your machine is making weird noises, whether gurgling noises when filling up or clicking noises when spinning, it is likely that there is something stuck somewhere in the machine. Check the various parts or call a professional.
In all of the above cases, it is best to call a professional to get the issue resolved. Contact us today for help.
