The first day of spring is right around the corner and one of the best ways to make the most of the warmer weather and sunshine is to grab some friends or family and sign up for a local food tour. These tours are a great way to enjoy Minneapolis and discover local hot spots. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, the food tours below are sure to bring you closer to the city and its culture.
Looking to sip some craft beer while learning about Minneapolis’ history? The Skyway tour is for you. This guided tour will introduce you to a handful of popular local landmarks and will stop at some of best restaurants the city has to offer. Make room for this tour in March as it stops during the summer months and picks back up in November.
One of the newest tours offered is the “Nordeast” River District tour. It’s a guided tasting tour where participants start on one of the oldest streets in the city. Food and drink samples include local staples such as pierogis, Minnesota-style pizza and polish sausage all paired with craft beers. While participants sip, the tour guide will share why the area is known as “Nordeast.” Tours start in April and run through the summer.
The Riverwalk tour is one of the most popular tours offered in the city. It offers a scenic walk along the river coupled with food and drink tastings in some of the city’s most historic neighborhoods. A visit to the Mill City Museum and the local Farmers Market is also included. Tours start in May.
